Spain alone has 4,000 wineries. A few hundred of these are big enough to employ export teams, and those aren't the ones making the wines you want. The rest make the Peninsula's most interesting wine and have no one to sell it abroad. We are their export office. For importers, that is exactly the point: the wines worth listing rarely come from wineries with salespeople.
We work for importers: tasting thousands of wines across Spain and Portugal, filtering out the noise, and bringing you only the projects worth a listing. With experience from over twenty-five markets, we see the trends and help you select wines that will be easy to sell.
I started in wine in 2008, on the shop floor of Systembolaget, the Swedish alcohol monopoly. Since then: head sommelier for luxury hotels in the Maldives, journalist for The Buyer and Harpers, speaker at wine fairs from Verona to China, and independent broker.
In 2013 I completed a Master's in Wine Business in Dijon, Burgundy, where a meeting with Becky Wasserman set the course for everything since. As a sommelier with long experience, I know what other sommeliers are looking for on their lists, and how wine buyers think; every wine I pitch is chosen with that in mind. And I am fully independent: no affiliations, no house wines I need to sell. Spain alone has some 4,000 wineries, and I am free to pick and choose from all of them for any given client.
I only write when I find a wine I know will sell through. Each letter is a ready-made pitch for your restaurants and shops, sometimes an entirely new winery before your competition has heard of it, always with ex-works prices and available quantities, no commissions. Every word written by me, never by AI.
Distributors around the world trust Cruz as a curator because we save them time, at no added cost. Every box of samples that leaves our office should tell you one thing: we've done our homework.
I've worked with Cruz since 2016 and can vouch for his dedication in helping me to keep our wine offer ahead of our competitors.
The Iberian Aesthetics team is our preferred advisor for Spanish wines; they have helped us with finding wines for tenders on the Swedish alcohol monopoly, Systembolaget.
It's hard to know what is going on in Spain if you live on the other side of the Atlantic. Iberian Aesthetics helps us with the narrowing-down process, and so far it's been incredibly cost saving.
Our relationship with Iberian Aesthetics has been nothing but a success. The team tastes thousands of wines every year to speed up my procurement process and save me time.
Cruz and team are helping our winery to diversify our client portfolio, so that we reduce the risk of getting into trouble due to political events.
The pitched wines we have got so far have been selling well. I see that a new generation of wine drinkers here in India are very curious about more artisanal wines.
Terroir wines from Spain are still reasonably priced compared to some French and Italian bottles. We appreciate a helping hand in getting us in touch with the latest growers.
Iberian Aesthetics helped us with sourcing sparkling wine for a wine brand we are working with in Scandinavia. The process has been fast and our clients are more than happy with the result.
Young growers from Spain and Portugal are waiting to present their wines. Tell us about your market and we'll bring you the projects worth your attention.
