Iberian Aesthetics acts as the extended export department for a curated portfolio of wineries. We boost our wine makers current export numbers and diversify their client base. Distributors work with us to access new, high-potential projects from across the Iberian Peninsula.

External Export Office

Our inspiration for this endeavour has been the work of Becky Wasserman, who introduced the world to small Burgundy domaines as early as 1976. With the ethos of “small is beautiful” she was instrumental in giving Burgundy wines the reputation they have today.

Similar dynamics are in play in Spain and Portugal today. Where large cooperatives and wine brands have an upper hand on the small winemakers. Consumers are hungry to try wines from new projects, but for distributors it’s not easy to know where to look.

Work with us to assure that you are among the first to taste anything new and exceptional. Young growers from Spain and Portugal are waiting to present their wines to you. We don't mark up prices with commissions; you receive rates equivalent to purchasing directly from the winery.

About us

Our international team, based in Barcelona, is comprised of four people, including sales and administration. Our founder, Mr. Cruz Liljegren, has been involved in different areas of the wine business since he was 20 years old. That's about 17 years in positions such as Head Sommelier for luxury hotels in the Maldives, Wine Journalist for wine trade magazines such The Buyer and Harpers Wine & Spirit, retail salesman at the Swedish alcohol monopoly, and later in his career, Independent Wine Broker. In 2013, Cruz completed his Master’s degree in Wine Business from the University of Dijon, Burgundy. During that time he had the pleasure to get introduced to Becky Wasserman, a meeting that would stand as inspiration to his current endeavors with Iberian wine exports. . As their extended export department we help wineries in Spain and Portugal reach more customers, reducing risks from economic changes, regulations like Brexit, and dependence on one market.

We follow a simple rule: “If we won't drink it, we won't sell it.”

Our philosophy

Central to our ethos, both now and in the past, is a profound appreciation for great wine. The producers we collaborate with are small-scale, often family-owned enterprises. Frequently, when we discover an intriguing producer, they exhibit equal enthusiasm for aspects like soil biodiversity, sustainable vineyard practices, and reduced chemical use, in addition to their wine craftsmanship.

These values align seamlessly with our sourcing principles, which revolve around quality, authenticity, integrity, and the unique expression of origin. It appears that responsible producers are also the creators of the most captivating wines.
